Jean_favicon.jpgPoppy-Seed Yeast Cake

Serves All

In the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" they "fix" the hole in the bundt pan with a plant.

Leave leftover filling in an open bowl in the freezer, and let it absorb the smells.  After two months, use for cookies, unless Reuven or Nachman ate it already.....

Ingredients:

Dough:
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup margarine or butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
30 g fresh yeast

flour as needed
Filling:
1/2 Kg ground poppy seeds
1 cup honey
1 cup sugar
1 cup water or milk
1 tsp vanilla

  1. Warm milk in pan or microwave.
  2. Add margerine and sugar - mix to dissolve.
  3. Add eggs and vanill. Mix well.
